The 2017 Jester Memorial Run is in the books. This 22nd year there were 10 plaques commemorating the lives of bikers who have passed during the last year. Friends and family were on hand to remember these riders and to receive the plaques generously donated by the Verde Valley District of the Modified Motorcycle Association of Arizona. Each year the district hosts this poker run to honor those riders lost during the previous year and to raise money for fallen bikers and motorcycle awareness programs that save lives. If you have never attended, please consider doing so next year. It is always held in May which is traditionally Motorcycle Safety & Awareness month in Arizona, it is always an awesome ride, and the money raised directly benefits Arizona bikers. The short ceremony is solemn and always moving and is followed by a police escorted ride to the first stop on the poker run. Follow the link above for photos from this year’s event, or watch the short video below of this year’s ceremony.
Thank you Verde Valley District of the MMA for being gracious and friendly hosts. Special thanks goes to Debi Althouse Payne who made this event a reality. You did a superb job again this year. The entire motorcycling community owes you their gratitude and respect.
