Here they are! Unfortunately,  in the rush to get my own chili concoction entered, I forgot the Hi-Res camera. So, here are my cell phone pics and video. But they are still fun and you will get the idea.
ABATE of Arizona High Country Chapter’s 10th Annual Chili Cook Off was a fantastic and fun event. We had 18 great chcil entries, plus mine, giving us 19 chili entries total. More than twice last year. The upside was we had plenty of chili for the “all you can eat” part of the party (and it WAS party). The downside was, it made voting VERY difficult as there seem to be an LOT of great cooks in High country (plus me).
Anyway, the weather stayed almost completely dry with just one or two minutes of “almost” deciding to sprinkle followed by a gorgeous rainbow that just made the whole affair that much better. Plum Krazy provided an entire afternoon of great classic blues, rock and country music to keep us entertained and the Spur Bar had lot’s of cold beer on hand to compliment the chili.
Congratulations to Jo Jo for winning by Just beating out last year’s champion. Thanks very much to all competitors and chili lovers / supporters that made for a wonderful party. We hope to see you all again next year. Oh and thanks to you who donated to the silent auction. Great prizes and it is REALLY appreciated by all involved.
